Visit to the A. Mosso Institute: Science at Altitude
With the completion of the setup of its new museum section, the historic research institute opens its doors again, now in winter mode!
Join us in discovering it starting from Passo dei Salati. You’ll only need to tackle a short ascent on the snow to explore the challenges of conducting high-altitude research at 2,901 meters above sea level.
Rates:
Adult: €27.00 Junior: €20.00 Baby: €5.00 The rates include a round-trip Alagna-Passo dei Salati ticket, guidance, and a guided tour of the Institute.
Participants arriving from Gressoney can purchase their round-trip ticket at the Staffal ticket office and pay the Guide fee of €5.00 directly at the Institute.
Meeting Point: 9:30 a.m. at the ticket office of the Alagna Monterosa Ski lifts.
For participants arriving from Gressoney, the meeting point is at 10:20 a.m. at the arrival station of the Gabiet-Salati cable car.
IMPORTANT: wait for the Guide to arrive without moving or crossing ski slopes.

Difficulty: EASY – suitable for the whole family
Walking Duration: SHORT – about 20 minutes on snow, with an elevation gain of 35 meters
Guided Tour Duration: Approximately 60 minutes
IMPORTANT NOTICE:participation requires wearing appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for the altitude and the snow-covered trail.
The use of crampons is highly recommended. The route involves crossing a ski slope, which will be safely managed for the group. The path can only be undertaken with a Guide at the specified times and dates.
