Science at High Altitude
Every Monday, we’ll guide you on an easy walk through the stunning natural setting of Passo dei Salati, leading to the historic research institute founded in 1907, still active today and recently updated with a new museum display. You’ll only need to cover a few meters of elevation gain to discover what it means to conduct scientific research at 2,901 meters!
Schedule:
9:00 AM – Meeting at the Alagna lift ticket office
9:15 AM – Departure and ascent with lifts to Passo dei Salati
10:00 AM – Start of the hike to the Angelo Mosso Institute and guided visit
Around 12:00 PM – Return to Passo dei Salati
Route:
Easy level, suitable for the whole family
Short duration: 20-minute walk with 80 meters of elevation gain
Hiking boots and mountain clothing with warm, waterproof layers are recommended.
