Alpe Meggiana is located in the municipality of Pila, at an altitude of 1,560 metres. To reach it from Mera, follow the PCV number 2 Scopello-Mera-Meggiana-Rassa. The itinerary is wide and clean, and the height difference is minimal. Travel time is approximately two hours one way.
In Meggiana the alpine restaurant is open during the summer season. The route begins in front of the arrival of the Scopello-Mera chairlift, where a steep ramp leads to the foot of Mount Camparient. An evocative view of Monte Rosa guides the route which, with very small differences in height, crosses the entire Alpe di Mera among magnificent rhododendron and blueberry shrubs up to Colle d'Ovago, below Monte Ometto.
From here, continue at high altitude without particular difficulties until you first reach Alpe Meggiana, at the height of the suggestive Lago del Pizzo, then Alpe Sorbella with a moderate slope, from where you descend with a dozen hairpin bends reaching the bridge that crosses the Sorba stream.
