Starting from the arrival of the Punta Jolanda chairlift, this route is subject to the opening hours and timetables of the ski lift. For more information contact MonterosaSki.
From the centre of Gressoney-La-Trinité reach the departure point of the historic Punta Jolanda chairlift located at the exit of the village in the direction of Stafal. In a few minutes, you will reach the upper station of the lift from which you can admire a spectacular view of the Gressoney Valley and take a break at the Bar Restaurant Punta Jolanda. From there, take trail no. 5, which immediately gains height and then reaches a second, almost flat section leading to the wall of the Gabiet dam.
To get to the other side of the valley, the route first requires you to descend and then climb up again, keeping a short distance from the dam. Once on the other bank, near the hamlet, head towards the reservoir and follow the trail that becomes flat and relaxing, offering beautiful views towards the 4215 m Vincent Pyramid. Once at the bottom of the lake, overcome a short climb to reach a wide saddle behind which is the Gabiet hut, the destination of the itinerary.
