All the activities to do with children along magical paths

Backpacking, hunting for hidden waterfalls, fairy tales and fresh mountain air

The crisp, fresh air of the forest, the panorama that opens up imposingly to 4000m and fills the eyes with majesty, the contagious energy that is released after exertion: taking the children for a walk at the foot of Monte Rosa recharges and relaxes at the same time. Thus, almost without realizing it, one feels incredibly light and happy.

We have thought and created many proposals for holidays with your children. We assure you unforgettable experiences and adventurous undertakings, all obviously family-sized! Below you will find some recommended itineraries to share the beauty of the mountain with your children, without too much effort.

Pian Villy, a walk… to give space to the imagination!
Pian Villy smells of flowering meadow grass, the wood of statues, the resin of the woods. A small ring that you can cover on foot, with a trekking stroller, following an easy path that starts and ends in Champoluc. Along the itinerary you will find characteristic wooden works by local artists and legends scattered along the way, which allow you to discover the characters that imagination and popular tradition have handed down over the centuries.
You can walk it at all hours of the day and the comfortable wooden tables will be your allies for a family picnic!

The Ru Courtod - the irrigation channel between lush fir trees, pastures and tunnels
Imagine a long, flat walk with a view of Monte Rosa, what more could you ask for? The Ru Courtaud is the irrigation channel which, starting from the source above Saint-Jacques, reaches the Col de Joux, in a succession of unique panoramas. The beauty of this excursion is that it has several starting points and can also be covered for short stretches (the total length is in fact 24 km and without major gradients). Along the path you will find alpine pastures where you can eat a delicious polenta and where you can taste the cheeses produced there, and the suggestive galleries that allow you to glimpse the Brusson area with its magnificent lake. The darkness and coolness of the tunnels make the route exciting and adventurous for children, especially if they are involved as little explorers, with a flashlight or headlamp.

The Mascognaz waterfall - a postcard from Champoluc
Just behind the Champoluc Tourism Office, the path starts which in 15 minutes reaches the panoramic point of the Mascognaz waterfall: the stream descends from the village of the same name and takes a nice thunderous dip, a show for all children! Illuminated even in the evening, the water becomes frozen in winter when temperatures drop below zero. The first section can also be traveled with a stroller and allows you to get to the first waterfalls, but if you want to have another view, the path that starts in the woods will lead you to another panoramic point. This time, however, the path becomes very narrow and uphill!

It is important to choose routes suitable for the age and ability level of the children and to take the necessary precautions such as bringing sufficient water and snacks, wearing appropriate clothing and footwear and being aware of the weather conditions. It's also a good idea to check local tourism websites for more ideas and advice.
