The District is located in the heart of the Italian Alps, at the foot of Monte Rosa, the second highest massif in Europe. This is a vast system of ski resorts: the main ski area "3 Valli sci ai piedi" is completed by the five resorts, small pearls of the domaine skiable. The ski resort is divided between Piedmont and Aosta Valley, reaching a height of 3,250 meters, between the territories of Alagna Valsesia, Gressoney-La-Trinité and Champoluc.

Antagnod is one of the most characteristic resorts available to skiers of Monterosa Ski. Fraction of the municipality of Ayas is a private and quiet tourist center, known for its "sun lifts", so called for their favorable exposure and because they lead to easy slopes, at the foot of Mount Zerbion.
There are regular public transport links to the nearby Champoluc ski resort (4km).
