Donne di terre estreme (Women of The Outermost Lands) is the title of the exhibition, curated by Fort Bard in collaboration with Montura, that presents the research of a human and poetic level into the reality of women in lands considered geographically extreme and on the margins, done by Caterina Borgato, photographer and traveller.
These lands are extreme because of their geographical remoteness and their environmental and climatic conditions, which affect the daily life of the people who live there. The women featured in this exhibition live in the highlands of Western Mongolia, on the remote island of Socotra, and in the desert lands of Dancalia. A testimony to the unity of the female world that represents the foundations of these unknown and distant societies. The photographs are taken from the volume Women of The Outermost Lands, Caterina Borgato’s first publication published by Montura Editing in 2021.
