The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc is a great sporting event that attracts numerous trailers from all over the world. The Mont Blanc becomes the protagonist of various mountain races of different types, lengths and difficulties.
The main and original race is the UTMB, a complete tour of the Mont Blanc massif, around 171 km with 10,000 meters of height gain, crossing France, Switzerland et Italy, which in 2023 becomes the ultimate final of the UTMB World Series in the 100M category.
The other races are:
- CCC (Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix). 101 km with 6,100 metres of height gain. Unique race of its kind and among the most prestigious in the world. The 100K category final of the UTMB World Series.
- TDS (Traces des Ducs de Savoie). 145 km with 9,100 metres of height gain. Beautiful, technical, wild, demanding, it links the Aosta Valley to the Savoie, mixing history and mountain.
- PTL (Petite Trotte à Léon). 300 km with 25,000 metres of height gain. The route is to be realised in semi-self-sufficiency and by teams of 2 or 3 inseparable runners. A wider tour of Mont Blanc off the beaten track.
- ETC (Experience Trail Courmayeur). 15 km e 1300m D+. A race for everyone around Courmayeur, which wants to be festive and popular.
- OCC (Orsières-Champex-Chamonix). 56 km with 3,500 metres of height gain. Race accessible to lovers of medium distance starting from Switzerland. The 50K category final of the UTMB World Series.
- MCC (Martigny-Combe à Chamonix), 40 km with 2,300 metres of height gain, a race created for volunteers and local inhabitants.
- YCC (Youth Chamonix Courmayeur). A challenge for young people aged 14 to 22 with a trail race in Courmayeur on Tuesday (between 4 and 15 km depending on the category) and a short and innovative second race the following day in Chamonix.
- MINI UTMB mini-races for children 3-13 years of age in order to share their parent’s passion.
