The Châtel Argent Choir was founded in 1971 in Villeneuve and from that date on it has always perfomed. It was directed by maestro Valentino Georgy and, since 10th December 2022, by maestra Miriana Perron. Today the choir, which performs a cappella, is composed by 26 elements who come from Villeneuve, the central valley and three lateral valleys, among which is La Thuile. It proposed a local repertorysung by men and women and it also performs tracks in French and Franco-provençal dialect. It owns a group which plays both the accordion and the traditional fléyé, the ancient instruments used to thresh wheat.
