HISTORY
The first edition of the AMA (Alagna-Monterosa-Alagna) was in 1992.
In 1994, the still unbeaten records were set by the Italians Fabio Meraldi and Gisella Bendotti, who completed the route in 4h 24' and 5h 35'.
The race was relaunched in 2018 with a new format, where competitors compete in pairs, tethered for safety reasons and wearing micro-crampons at the top of the course.
AMA VK2 – A DOUBLE VERTICAL KILOMETER
In addition to the pairs race, the MonteRosa SkyMarathon, AMAVK2 is also part of the event format, an individual race that reaches 3.260 meters at the Indren station.
